Wildscreen Festival India 2007

Wildscreen is the world's largest and most prestigious wildlife and environment film festival. It was founded by Sir Peter Scott in 1982 and its patrons include Sir David Attenborough, Prince Philip & E.O. Wilson. It celebrates its 25th anniversary in 2006.

Held in Bristol every two years, the festival culminates with the Panda award which has been won thrice each by eminent Indian conservationists & filmmakers, Mike Pandey & the Bedi brothers. Wildscreen attracts the famous names from wildlife, conservation and environmental backgrounds and has an increasing role in promoting films as a conservation tool to highlight key environmental issues amongst a wider network www.wildscreenfestival.org


The Wildscreen Festival is coming to India for the first time in January 2007.

100 years of British environmental filmmaking
50 years of the BBC Natural History Unit
25th year of the Wildscreen festival

Wildscreen India Festival
(a) It’s a great networking opportunity for top class environment film professionals in both the countries to meet and together promote the theme of nature conservation and environment protection.
(b) Rare opportunity for young Indians to train with the UK experts, some of the best in the world, on the latest techniques in environment filmmaking
(c) Films are an important conservation tool in India, a county known for mega biodiversity with three global hotspots, several rare and endangered species of flora and fauna.

(1) To be held from 19-21 January 2007 in New Delhi
(2) To be held from 23-25 January 2007 simultaneously in Chennai, Kolkatta & Pune
